Exactly what is a natural cleanse? At first, it may seem more complicated than it truly is.

A natural cleanse consists of using natural foods and supplements to cleanse your colon of harmful substances and toxins that build up and inhibit proper absorption of nutrients and regular bowel movements — both of which have detrimental health consequences.
In this article, we outline the three most common methods of performing a natural cleanse. The first is what some refer to as the “hard-core” way. That is, an attempt to get rid of every single bacteria in your body (whether it’s beneficial or not) and then see what happens. If you think that sounds a bit extreme, you’re not alone. It’s impossible to rid your body of all bacteria, though some people actually try. And, that attempt is misguided because our body has millions of bacteria that perform essential tasks, including helping us digest foods.
Ridding your body of all its bacteria is therefore a very, very bad idea if you wish to maintain your status as a carbon-based life form. It hopefully goes without saying that we do not recommend the “hard-core” method.
Lemonade all-natural cleansing is another very popular natural colon cleansing method. Typically, you start on days one and two by eating just fruits and vegetables, and on day three you consume only orange juice — about a gallon — mixing it with water to taste and with 2 tablespoons of maple syrup for caloric intake needs.
At that point, you can ease into the “lemonade diet,” as it has been called. In essence, you consume nothing but lemonade, with some high-grade maple syrup and organic cayenne pepper mixed in. A “salt-water flush” and the “ease-out” are also part of the regimen. The salt-water flush involves using organic salt mixed with water at room temperature. If all goes well, you’ll have a bowel movement about an hour later, serving as a colon flush.
The “ease-out” is the way to transition your body back to typical food intake with as little difficulty as possible. It includes orange juice on day one, fruits and veggies on days two and three, and then back to your regular diet (with hopefully some adjustments for more fiber) on the fourth day.
The most popular natural cleanse method involves taking a supplement with all natural herbs and vitamins. These products usually contain ingredients such as antioxidants, acidophilus, ginger root, green tea extract and mangosteen extract to help flush your system. Although not considered a long-term solution, these supplements can give you a safe natural colon cleanse while helping you lose as much as 20 pounds! This comes from the removal of literally pounds of fecal matter that can get built up on the walls of your colon due to your diet being low in fiber. Other articles on this Web site address the topic of all natural colon cleanse in more detail.
Of the three options, we recommend the lemonade natural bowel cleansing or supplement methods. The natural colon cleansing products are the place to start for most people, because they disrupt your daily functioning the least, and are viewed by some experts as being safer. Many herbal detox supplements offer a free trial period, meaning there is little to no risk in trying them. You have nothing to lose, and a natural body cleanse to gain!
